Are You Expanding Your Child's World?

Barry Ward

Lately have you been thinking that you are in a bit of a rut concerning things you and your preschooler do together? Maybe you mostly stay at home and your child plays with his or her toys while you do things like chores or even talk on the phone. You might meet other moms and their preschoolers at a fast food restaurant sometimes, but does that really count as expanding your child's world?

Maybe you already have a plan to enrich your little one's experiences. If so, good for you. Otherwise, from arranging for interesting field trips to arranging for your child to go to a child day care center, here are some ideas that might help you.

Field Trips - A field trip with your child doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate. Think of going on nature hikes together where you look for specific things. Another idea is to call your grocery store ahead of time and ask if you and your child might be able to watch the baker decorate cookies or cakes. Are there factories in your town or city? If so, maybe there are actual tours that you and your child can take.

For instance, maybe there's a shoe factory in your area. Wouldn't it be fun for you and your preschooler to watch how shoes are manufactured? Think of going to a world market store where you can show your child the things that are made in other countries. When you get home, show him or her where those countries are located on the world globe .

A Child Day Care Center - Another way to expand your child's world is to enroll him or her in a child day care center. Think of enrolling him or her for only one or two mornings each week at first. This will help your child learn to play with other children. Being in a child day care center will also help your child learn to interact with other adults.

Your child will more than likely have many varied experiences at day care. There will be educational games and toys and there will be monitored outdoor play time. After your child goes to day care for a few times you might be surprised to find that he or she wants to go more than once or twice a week. If that's the case, and if you can afford it, think about arranging for your child to go to the child day care center more often, and maybe even all day.

Understanding Excellent Child Care Activities

Hello, I am Lorraine. I am excited to share my knowledge of activities that child care centers should adopt. I hope to talk about all of the different skills kids will learn from each activity option. Kids in child care need to have plenty of novel experiences to quickly learn about the joys of the world. Both structured activities and free play give kids a chance to explore the way the world works and people operate. My site will cover all of the activity options suitable for each child care environment. Thank you for visiting my website. I will see you again soon.
